Robin Jay The Art of the Business Lunch - Writing Reviews - Linda Randall

Robin Jay has become a sort of mentor to me.

She sends me words of encouragement almost everyday via email.

She's a smart and intelligent woman who helps to instill positive thoughts into everyone she comes into contact with.

As an Executive Business Person she knows what it takes to reel in those clients by having breakfast, lunch or supper with them.

Most business persons prefer to have meetings in the morning or early afternoon so that they can take the rest of the day to work on their projects.

Someday I'll be having lunch with the "Queen of the Business Lunch" from Las Vegas.

In the meantime I'll have to enjoy my emails for now.

Robin  told me she had some books that would help me with my self-confidence.

Struggling to become an author, writer with no previous education I have my daily ups and downs.

Robin is always there rooting for me, encouraging me to press on and forward with my goals.

She's even introduced me to other people in the business.

I have been blogging about one of her books - The Power of the Platform - Speakers on Success  because it has changed my life!

http://ideagirlconsulting.blogspot.com/2010/02/robin-jay-power-of-platform-speakers-on.html

I will also be blogging about the other two books she sent me starting next week.

The Power of the Platform - Speakers on Purpose and The Art of the Business Lunch.

Judging by the book covers, these positive words will also help make a difference in my life.

I'm in my 40's and I'm starting a brand new career with no education or training.

So far I've been doing something right because thousands of people are visiting my blogs and learning just like me.

I appreciate all of you!

I just wanted to write a thank you note to Robin Jay and to my readers for being so supportive of my goal to become a writer, blogger and soon a published author!

http://robinjay.info/

I wrote an article for Niagara Community Newspaper (St Catharines, Niagara Falls Local News, Events and Writers) and Jeannette Louise Tossounian will be publishing my article "Ghost Tales - Niagara is Haunted by Linda Randall " sometime during the week of March 7-13th, 2010."  This is a special time for me each year.  My father passed away back in 2004 in this time frame.  I'm going to be writing to make him proud of me.  I love you Daddy and I miss you! hugs xoxoxox

Posting Videos on The Idea Girl Says and Idea Girl Consulting Wordpress -Linda Randall

I've been busy with my boxes all week and I'm still not done!

Its going to take me a few days to get my place in order but once it's done I'll be able to concentrate on writing the munroe series again.

I will also be working on the calamity girl manuscript and posting more chapters online for everyone to read.

I don't seem to get any feedback from the novels.

I was hoping that people could tell me if they like the stories or if its just not their type of book.

The Old German Church - St Peter's Anglican Church Burial Grounds from 1802?

This is the area where there were bones sticking out of the ground.  some were larger but they were frozen.

I was assuming that this could be the place where the old german church and st peters anglican church burial grounds are located.   we found several grave stones and another adventurer pointed out this area to us.  I've also seen on a google map this area confirmed and a message from someone who was in the area in 1959!
It sure looks different now!

It's Feb 2010 and the brush has been cleared here where we found some gravestones.  There was a marker here a few months ago but it has disappeared too.

there is still a lot of snow here so we couldn't really explore the area to be entirely sure.

Here we find what looks like something that holds gravestones.
There is a cluster of stones in this area on top of the ice.
It's completely frozen so we cannot see anything else.
I want to explore this area when it's melted.

this is the roadway that leads from Lock 6 of the fourth welland canal, down into the pondage area.

I assume this is the lock 6 pump house - pondage area.

the area directly in front of me where there is no snow, we found bones lying in the dirt there.

These are the grave stone markers found near where we think St Peter's Cemetery is from 1802 - 1886. (around 200 years old)

Here's a long shot of the gravestone holder and lots of ice here.

These bones were lying around in the ground.  I thought they were human bones.  Others say they are animal bones.  I was all excited to find these bones.  I figured I found this 200 year old cemetery.  I made a video about it and posted it on my idea girl consulting youtube channel.  It's a 5 part series - The Welland Canal Wetlands.

Notice here there is no seaweed.  We thought that was odd because the whole pondage area is covered with it.  Why isn't it here?  Also the land here is in little mini hills.  Are there bodies buried in these pockets of soil?

Some of the ground is covered in snow, we cannot look to see what's there yet. It's frozen.

We are approximately 150 feet plus from the roadway and 175 feet from the east side of the lock 6 pondage area.  I'm wondering if there is a cemetery here, then maybe the universe put the little bones out to show us where the bigger bones are.  I've seen that happen before in my psychic investigations.  My clues I would find animal bones and then a week later, the person we were looking for, is found somewhere else.

In the middle of the photo along the far east side is a cement marker of some sort.  Not sure what it is but there are holes in the ground on either side of this thing.  There is a pathway here that leads to the old pump house and the west end of the blue ghost tunnel .  To the left is LOCK 6 of the Fourth Welland Canal Entrance Gateway.

100 feet to the right is another cement marker along this east side of the Lock 6 pondage area.  The bones were scattered in between these two markers, towards the lower parts of the dirt.  There is no seaweed in this WHOLE section.  This is why I think this is a burial ground area.

You can see the bones protruding from the ground but the seaweed is very far and few between.

Here is is starting to show a little more.  The elevation of the land is different here and the ground isn't hard as a rock.  It felt spongy and almost -10 to -20 colder in this area.  I was shivering and I had the oddest feeling when I saw the bones.  I was excited to find evidence of something here after looking for three years, you would too!  At first it was an old wives tale, a legend that people told us about everytime we went to see the blue ghost tunnel.  Then I started doing research about it and found out all sorts of strange things.

The funniest part was the St Catharines Standard reporters over the years share conflicting stories as to how many people are buried in this burial plot.  It was strange that none of them had the exact same number dating as far back as 1923 when I read the archives posted at the St Catharines Museum at Lock 3.

It was a cool experience.  You have to sign a special book and ask for permission to be in the archives.  You have to give your purpose, and email address.  They also document what materials you research.  I was there for a few months a couple of days of the week.  Looking for information as to why on earth that area would be haunted.  I knew it wasn't the railroad accident 100 feet away.

Judging by the size of a orb in a photo taken there. It was 4 feet by 6 feet wide in the photos.  The guy told us there were a lot of spirits there.  And when the girl took my photo I had about 50 orbs surrounding me, yet the two guys in the same frame had none.  That was when I heard voices.  I had asked the ghosts what their unfinished business was and they said the wanted to be buried properly.

So a week later I couldn't get a pastor to go out to do it, so I blessed the blue ghost tunnel spirits and prayed for their souls to be released and sent to heaven.  They said thank you but they still wanted their bodies moved to the graveyard.  They don't like being under water.  It's hard for ancestors to place flowers and pay their respects to their loved ones.  Many do not know that they have family there.

Many of the people buried in that cemetery are from St Peter's Anglican Church, The Old German Church and the locals of Thorold, Ontario.  There was probably some of the Welland Ship Canal workers from the First , Second and Third Canal.  The cemetery closed in 1886.

Not all the graves were moved.  Families were told to pay $5 to move loved ones, if they didn't they couldn't claim them.  I think that was ridiculous!  The government or the St Lawrence Seaway , along with the church should have moved the graves.  There's over 1000 unmarked graves in that area.  300 were documented as marked and only 130 or so are reported as being moved to the Lakeview Cemetery.  There were some families that had their loved ones moved to other cemeteries in the region or elsewhere.

I was meditating here just listening to the water , nature and I felt so cold there.  The coldness stayed with me for a week.  My house is freezing until I send an email to the St Peter's Anglican Church.  All week I spent time in prayer and meditation asking the powers that be for guidance on how to deal with this matter.

Eventually they told me to email the church and let them know what is happening in this pondage area.  They have in turn contacted St Peter's Cemetery.  I've been giving them the links to the newspaper articles about the bodies being exhumed from this area back in March 2009 just a week or two before they reopened.  They only moved seven caskets, three were empty.  They have two bodies that are not identified, but were supposedly buried at Lakeview Cemetery.  We could not find any fresh graves there. We have been trying to keep track of things there to make sure that it's done right.  So that those spirits that asked to be buried will be taken care of.  Then their unfinished business will be done.

There is a pile of rubble and stones in the middle of the pondage area.  I thought it was from a church or building. I still don't know why it's there.

Another area of bones.  I must be about 300 feet or more from the old pump house straight ahead.

It's strange how the land has mounds of dirt in perfect circles on the east end of the pondage area by Lock 6 and Lock 7.

The rubble and stones out in the middle.  We found a few bones in this area too.

This lock is from the 3rd Welland Canal.  During the year it's submerged under water. I always wondered how the birds were all standing out in the middle. I thought it was an island, until some dude who hikes and takes photos there told me it was an old lock.  We came back in Feb 2010 just to see it.

I got pictures of it up close.  I can't figure out why the walls are so small.  They are either 10 to 20 feet high.  Yet the canal has 80 feet high walls in the fourth welland canal and in the mountain locks they seem to be 60 feet?

There is this wall out in the middle, can't figure out why it's there or what it's for!

I think it's cool how the water naturally curves in a certain direction. To the left of this view is the old cemetery spot where we found gravestones and markers of a grave site.

the water is crystal clear here but it smells a bit fishy and mildew.

Here is the view looking towards the old pump house for the 3rd welland canal.

I got down as close as possible to take a photo of the pondage area.  I originally thought this was Lake Gibson because of the maps I looked at.  I guess my geography isn't the greatest. LOL

The Benefits of Meditation - 528 hz - DNA Repair Music

Did you know that 528hz music can help to heal your body?
It causes vibrations in the areas of body to trigger healing there.

After my car accident I was pretty down.
Nothing worked for me.
The doctors tried different types of therapy then we had to stop.
It was causing me too much pain.

I found that meditation helped to relieve the pain from time to time.

The 528hz vibrations made my skin look and feel younger.

It made me feel good inside.

I felt like I was doing something to help heal my body.

You can find them on youtube to try them out!

This is my favorite DNA Repair - 528 hz meditation video

Writing about Niagara Falls Ontario - Queen St

Last summer we went to Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada.  Dean Tedesco from Niagara Gallery has been working on revitalizing the downtown core area.

He has done a fabulous job!  I was there a few years ago and most of the shops were closed up.  Now there's art galleries, curio shops, a bakery, ice cream shop, fashion designers, artists, studios, gourmet sandwiches, pizza and soup. So many things to choose from.

As a tourist is a great area to visit and pick up a souvenir.

I've made a video about in on Idea Girl Consulting Youtube.

2009 Goals Met for The Idea Girl Says - Idea Girl Consulting - Linda Randall

Here is another boring report, but I'm just so excited I reached 2 goals on Monday Dec 28th, 2009 by 12 midnight.

16,192 page views in one day on Idea Girl Consulting Word Press bringing the mass total to 378,978 (maybe I'll hit 400,000 soon! SWEET)

100,000 page views on The Idea Girl Says Word Press.

I did post a note on Twitter asking people to help me reach a goal of 10,000 hits in a day about 4 days ago, then it went 12,000, then 16,000.

Next weeks goal will be 20,000 hits in one day!

I hope I can keep the momentum rolling?

Last time I got all excited, they dropped down to 500 hits in one day. LOL

I'm still trying to find the right formula.

So far, it's this.

Post lots of different things that are related to your Niche, use tags, youtube videos, pictures, and let everyone on Twitter know what you are doing.

I also expanded my social networks on LINKED IN, Twitter, FACEBOOK, Groups, Yahoo Groups and I submitted some URLS to BING and visit other peoples sites, and comment with URL to blogs.
Oh yeah, and the BIG thing for me, was that Grant helped me set up a blog on The St Catharines Standard site, where I can post anything I want!

I was also invited to start writing movie reviews from some prestigious site (thats what the email says? LOL) and to guest blog for someone else.

I'm not sure I want to guest blog too much.  I've got so much on my plate already, with my new goals for 2010, to get something revised and sent to a publisher. :)

That was my strategy this week to increase my traffic to my two blogs.

Writing - The Calamity Girl

For the next month I'll be sharing my experience in the NANAMO contest.  I'm currently writing a chic lit novel called The Calamity Girl.  It's coming along nicely and I've changed my outline 3 times in one day.  Not bad for someone who 3 days ago didn't have any ideas on what to write.

So first I listed any and all ideas to get the creative juices going.

Next I started writing by asking, "What if?"

My first question was - What if I met an Alien, what would I do?

It sounds strange but hey I wanted to use my imagination.

The setting is 2009 - Let's just say you did have a close encounter with an alien being, tell me, what would you do?

Would you keep it a secret, fearing that your family and loved ones would think you are nuts?

Call the local tabloids, take pictures and make some money?

Report the alien to the military so they can capture it and do all sorts of nasty tests on it?

Exactly what would you do , if you met an alien?

I'll be sharing my story about my writing on The Idea Girl Says...

The Munroe Mansion Rough Draft of my Synopsis is Done!

I finished all 49 Chapters, 64,498 word count, 448 pages of my Mystery/Romance manuscript today.  I have the first draft of the Synopsis done.

Now I have to do some online research on how to set it up properly and I'm thinking, it's going to be just as much work as doing the manuscript itself.

The Synopsis is my selling tool, it actually has to be presented in a better light than my manuscript.

The fun part is reducing 49 pages into 25?

My goal was to finish The Munroe Mansion by October 31, 2009.

On November 1st, 2009, for thirty days I'll be writing a new chic lit novel called The Calamity Girl.

It's going to be about a single girl and all the lousy dates she goes on as she searches for Mr. Right.

Will she ever find Mr. Right?

Or will she just learn to be happy with her own life, become independent and wealthy.

I have a few characters in mind for this book, but not sure I'm going to go with any of them.

Some of them are actually from The Munroe Series.

I thought it would be fun to spill them into this book, because they are in a small scene in one of my books and I really don't get too involved in their life.

I could have them having a history with The Calamity Girl, then they part ways, and step into the Munroe Series.

Not sure, if that's a good idea?

I'd like to hear some feedback on that.

Anggun Italian Pop Music - Idea Girl Consulting Wordpress

I'm reading my emails from youtube and posting the URLS that people have sent me.

Awesome Italian Pop Music Artist Anggun's website and Music.

I noticed my traffic's fallen drastically in the past few days, down to around 500 per day from 6000?

Something's not working right out in computer land. :)

But I'm still getting comments, so I think I'll reduce my video's from 5 per post to about 2.

I think the page may take too long to load for some older computers and that's why people aren't sticking around.

Tattoo Designs - Pictures - Ideas - Books - Japanese Tattoos

Tattoo's are so cool and I've created a shopping guide for tattoo lovers, on books to buy from Amazon.

Christmas is coming up, birthdays, anniversary gifts, coffee table books, and gifts for friends or family, these books are great reading material while others show about 500 different Tattoo designs to choose from.

I've added them to my Roxanne Paltauf A Psychic Investigation lens on Squidoo.

Ted Bundy - Harvey Lee Oswald - Charles Manson - Serial Killer Books

I added some shopping modules to Roxanne Paultauf's Psychic Investigation lens.

I guess a lot of people have written books about several serial killers, exploring their love life, the victims, their stories, movies , biographies and tales of horror.

I can't imagine reading a book like that myself, but you might like that kind of thing.

I've added books about Ted Bundy, Harvey Less Oswald, Charles Manson, and Missing Persons.

Reached My Next Goal October 12, 2009 - 200,000 views Idea Girl Consulting Word Press

My first goal was to reach 10,000 hits, and I did, then I got 100,000 hits and now as of October 12th, 2009 I reached my goal of 200,533 views on Idea Girl Consulting Word press. WOOO HOOO!!!

I'm going to celebrate tonight with a cup of Earl Grey Tea and a big slice of Cherry Cheesecake.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, (from here in Canada.)

I made a nice ham dinner with pineapple and a sweet potato.

My sweetie, being the picky eater that he is, also had some leftover Chicken Chow Mein?

Mixing Chinese with Ham, what will he think of next? LOL

Hits are 163,460 as of 5:50 pm today, and that is awesome.

I had over 35,693 views and over 9,990 of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth sharing a kiss. LOL

I never imagined putting one silly picture up would draw so much attention?  But it did.

Now I've placed the video of Miley Cyrus doing a rap song about why she deleted her Twitter account.

I also placed the same pictures from word press onto my Idea Girl Consulting Squidoo site, just to see how the search engine works on that site.

They say they have improved their tags, so I'm testing it out.

I only get max 240 hits on my Twilight New Moon Photo Gallery, and I'd like to know why it's so low.

On wordpress I would get over 5,000 hits on the same blog!

So Word press wins hands down for search engine success.

I have noticed that my traffic sitemeter report for blogspot is averaging about 2000 hits now, which is pretty good since I haven't even listed it on any search engine URLS yet.

I'm doing this all from scratch, trying different variations to see what and how to draw traffic to a blog.

It's been interesting so far, I still can't figure it out. :) LOL

Must be a blonde thing.. ha ha ha ha

Squidoo - Adam Lambert - Kris Allen - Ryan Seacrest - Simon Cowell - American Idol

I love watching American Idol and I voted for Adam Lambert to win.  I was shocked that Kris Allen won, and I was upset about it at first, but now I'm okay with it.  He's good too and Adam and Kris make the perfect couple! LOL

I love Ryan Seacrest's sexy voice and he's a hard working man, I love all his TV and Radio shows.

Simon Cowell is funny and he always tickles my funny bone even when he's being mean. :)
