Blog Catalog is an excellent way to boost traffic to your site.

You can post a message in your shoutbox that is delivered to all of your followers.

And you can look for forums and chats about the same sort of blogs and catalog yours there.

People love comments, so go to one that will comment back on yours and visit it.

Hopefully they will like your content so much that they will come back for some more!

I always visit the URLS of the people that comment on my site, just to return the favour.

Writing - Music - Shopping - Movies

This weekend I decided to go out for a bit and have some fun.

I did some Christmas shopping at the flea markets and at the local mall.

I hope that you have started some of your christmas shopping?

I actually planned to do it after Dec 18th, because that's when all the great sales start.

Don't you just love it when the mall has midnight madness and there's a 75 % off sale on leather coats and clothing?

I spent the day doing research for New York City Apartments, Hotels and Restaurants.

I had to decide where Rachel Tornquist and Lori Winters were going to live in apartments, 
before moving into their new condos.

It took me over eight hours to find the right kind of pictures for about five settings.

The fun part was deciding what kind of furniture, kitchens, pool areas, sitting areas, that I could find.

I also touched on Hawaii Resorts, and that took the longest.

The names are so difficult to spell and type.

Even after writing them down, I kept typing them wrong! LOL

Reaching Goals As A Writer - Winner of NaNoWriMo 2009 - Niagara Region

I was so excited when I opened up an email from NaNoWriMo 2009 letting me know that I've won the contest, received a badge and a certificate to print and post on my wall.

I always put any goal that I've reached on my office wall.

Surrounding myself with things that I've accomplished.

This is a good thing for you to do as well.

Be it a contest, a squidoo Giant status, joining a group, winning a prize no matter how big or small, you need to post a reminder up on your wall.

And on those days when you feel blue about writing, or don't feel like you're good enough, you can look and say to yourself, I know I can do it.

Words of encouragement are posted on my walls.

Keywords on Google - Writing and Directing Traffic to Your Blogs

Today I was looking up information on Keywords and how they affect Google's spiderbots and webcrawlers.

Youtube :
Put the name of the song first, then the artists, album and other features.

Try to keep your title's, short, rich with keywords on the theme of your article.

Use the same keywords in the title, tags and content of your article.

This is supposed to help Google find you quickly through the mirad of millions of posts every day.

I've tried it out today and I'll let you know in two days time, if it's working!

I noticed on youtube there are tons of music videos not following this format, and some have no tags and they still managed to get over a million hits?
Whats up with that?

In the past week my traffic has doubled on both of my blogs so I'm a happy camper!

I'm not exactly sure if it's me trying to write better stuff, or just the fact that students are studying for exams, and surfing the internet a little more.

Characters - Creating a Setting, Place or Home Library

In creating a character's setting, you want to look for pictures on Google that will help you describe what your looking at.

It can be used as a visual tool or to make a website of your fictional settings, like I do in Squidoo.

I have so much fun creating a new home for Michael Ferraras in The Calamity Girl.

I want you to come and sit down here, now tell me, what do you smell?

I smell, leather, paper, and my nose is being tickled by the dust.

I hear silence and it's marvelous.

The scraping of paper as I turn a page in a book.

You get the idea now of what it's like to be a character sitting in a library.

Describe what you are doing to your readers, so they can feel like they are sitting there reading a book with you.
